Pediatrics in Brevard is part of the Reach Out and Read national network of clinicians who deliver information about the importance of reading with children to parents during routine pediatric visits.
Children that are read to more often have improved language and listening skills, experience stronger emotional connections to loved ones, and develop empathy, patience, memory, and curiosity. These skills are critical to success in school and beyond.
As part of our participation in this program, we give each child a new age-appropriate book at well visits beginning at 6 months through 5 years of age to keep, take home, and treasure. This program is funded by our providers and staff, as well as local businesses.
