As children reach the teenage years, we encourage them to start advocating for their own health care needs. You might find that we ask them to answer questions independently or may even ask parents to step out of the room briefly to allow your teenager privacy as they continue to build a trusting relationship with their provider. While we help your children to take more responsibility for their own health, we will give you as a parent the tools and resources you need to prepare your child for independence and adult decision making.
